Accessing PeopleSoft PIA – Fluid UI – Across Multiple Devices

PeopleTools 8.54 and 8.55 offer great capabilities for Fluid page development and it is very interesting to see fluid pages scale in accordance with the form factor. We do have simulators/emulators to get a feel of how the actual page would look like in a device, but it is nowhere close to viewing the pages in an actual device.

And it gets even more difficult, when you have a Demo instance running on VirtualBox, but would like to look at how the fluid page would appear in a Mobile device.

Without further ado, provided below are the steps to view PIA/Home page on different devices. But, before you get to the device configuration, ensure the following:

  1. All devices that you intend to use to access PIA must be on the same Wi-Fi network
  2. Login to your VirtualBox server and type ifconfig – note down the value against inet addr field – in this case, it is
  3. Send your PIA URL to your mail – – and access it from your devices

Question/ Request: Users are currently using a third part tools for asset management where they have scanner that scan the products and send them to PS to process them. Now that 9.2 has this ability, Can you please share some info as How to configure PS so that we don’t have to use a third party scanner and user can use their Mobile devices with a scanner attached for the JOB?

I hope to hear from you soon.
